Panattoni has completed the acquisition of a strategically important plot of land near the motorway and railway junction and the Leoš Janáček Airport in Mošnov. It has gained exceptional space for the construction of a new modern industrial complex. The project called Panattoni Park Ostrava Airport will significantly expand the range of job opportunities in the region.

Panattoni Park Ostrava Airport will be located 20 kilometres from the centre of Ostrava. A modern industrial hall with a total usable area of 115,000 sqm will be built on the 38hectare site by the end of 2026. The project, which will offer more than 2,000 new jobs, will significantly improve the labour market situation in the Moravian-Silesian Region.

"We are glad that we have kept our word and managed to fulfil the commitment we made with the Statutory City of Ostrava in 2020. We are one of the few industrial developers in the Czech Republic that are able to prepare zones of significant strategic scale. Personally, I am pleased that we have successfully completed the land acquisition and will be able to continue to participate in the economic transformation and development of the Leoš Janáček Airport in Mošnov and the entire region," said Matěj Hejma, Regional Development Director at Panattoni

"Panattoni is becoming, as they say, a good neighbour in the Moravian-Silesian Region. We welcome its activities, as well as any project that will attract investors to the region, create new jobs and business opportunities. I also appreciate the way in which Panattoni builds its complexes, using not only modern technology but also environmentally friendly practices. I keep my fingers crossed for the planned project, I believe that it will be beneficial for the region and its inhabitants," said Governor of Moravian-Silesian Region Josef Bělica

Mayor of Ostrava Jan Dohnal added: "this is a significant acquisition that has been completed after several years of effort. Although it may seem unusual that the City of Ostrava is intensively involved in the Mošnov industrial zone, the arguments for this peculiarity are the expected impacts and consequences for Ostrava. Increased employment and, hopefully, the creation of quality jobs will also bring with it economic growth, more money in the region and the potential for further development of Ostrava and nonOstrava companies. In addition, the zone near the airport, managed by the Moravian-Silesian Region, is fulfilling its vision of development, in which Ostrava, as the largest city in the region, supports it. We therefore expect a lot from the acquisition, from economic growth to expanded job opportunities. The presence of a major world-renowned developer in the Mošnov industrial zone, which is managed by Ostrava, is quite an achievement."

The location is easily accessible via the D48 motorway, which connects the site with Poland and the rest of the Czech Republic via the D1 motorway. Another benefit is the proximity of Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport, which offers not only domestic but also international connections, including direct flights to London, Paris and Düsseldorf.

The project will meet the highest current technical and environmental standards. Large capacity heat pumps or solar panels will be used to save energy consumption. The project aspires to achieve the prestigious international BREEAM New Construction certification at the Excellent level, one of the highest European standards for sustainable construction. The certification assesses not only the environmental friendliness of buildings, but also their efficiency in terms of energy operation and the use of innovative materials.
